Trump administration cancels programs aimed at protecting children from toxic chemicals

Even children are not safe from the Trump administration’s aggressive political news. In a new move aimed at saving money by cutting subsidies for environmental programs, American children will no longer be protected from exposure to certain toxic chemicals.

Since environmental protection is far from being a priority for the Trump administration, it is not surprising to learn of its initiative to cancel $40 million in research grants awarded to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. As one might expect, this will have numerous adverse consequences, but the worst of these concerns the cessation of studies on children’s exposure to toxic chemicals and contamination from PFAS (the forever chemicals) in food supplies.

However, the gravity of the situation may be worse than we think. A recent report from the news outlet The Guardian revealed that the Trump administration is quietly implementing a plan to eliminate hundreds of bans on PFAS and other dangerous compounds found in consumer goods. Such a decision will likely expose many Americans to much higher levels of chemicals linked to a range of health issues, including sleep disorders, cancer, hormonal disruptions, liver disease, and birth defects.

In light of these reckless decisions made by the Trump administration, it is the most vulnerable members of the population who are at risk. The situation is all the more alarming given the complexity and high costs of accessing medical care in the United States.

Moreover, no Hollywood star wanted to speak with Sebastian Stan out of fear of Donald Trump.
