Yesterday, I wrote rather quickly that while I gave Lecrae props for talking about Same Sex Marriage on his Facebook page, I didn’t agree with the logic of his arguments against it (comparing SSM to child marriage and incest). The only example I actually think he has a point on is polygamy. Even Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor brought it up polygamy on Tuesday during the Prop 8 Hearing. What I was trying to articulate, but probably failed at, is that SSM opponents need to use better arguments. If your best defense is a slippery slope argument, then you’re pretty quickly going to slide into losing.
There are, however, some Christians with more solid arguments. I listen to Hank Hanegraaff pretty regularly, and on Monday’s episode he covered the topic pretty thoroughly.
