In what I can only describe as laziness, I didn't make it to church this morning. This afternoon, feeling like I shouldn't waste an entire day, the Lord's Day at that, falling prey to one of the seven deadlies, I baked up some lemon poppy seed muffins and started reading Rod Dreher's "The Little Way of Ruthie Leming."
I'm only about forty pages in and I feel as if I've not only made a trip down to rural Louisiana, sat at the wrinkled knees of two great-aunts to hear WWI tales of Paris, and have witnessed the sweet beginnings of a love affair between high school sweethearts. All while remaining planted on my couch alone in my apartment in urban New Jersey.
Rod, while I like your blog, I *love* this book.
